# How to Use Doclingo’s Text Selection Features

Doclingo's **Text Selection** feature allows you to select text in your translated PDF document and interact with AI to get explanations, insights, translations, or copy text instantly.
This feature supports **both text-based and scanned PDF documents** and is currently available on **desktop browsers only**.

## 1. Open Your Translated Document
After completing your document translation, go to **Personal Center → Usage Records**.
Find your translated PDF document and click **“View”** to open the document preview.

## 2. Select Text in Your Document
1. Use your mouse to highlight the text you want to interact with.
2. A floating toolbar will automatically appear with the available Text Selection options.

## 3. Choose a Text Selection Feature
After selecting text, choose an action from the floating toolbar:
* **Chat:** Ask AI questions about the selected text.
* **Explain:** Get detailed explanations of complex sentences or technical terms.
* **Insight:** Generate key insights or a quick analysis.
* **Translate:** Translate the selected text into another language.
* **Copy:** Copy the selected text instantly.
For AI-powered features, the selected text will appear in the **AI Chat panel** on the right-hand side.
Click the **“Send” (blue arrow)** button at the bottom-right corner of the chat box to submit your request.
|| Note: Chat, Explain, Insight, and Translate consume characters from your available balance. Copy does not consume characters.

## 4. Review AI Results
After selecting an AI feature, review the response in the AI Chat panel.
Depending on the selected feature, you can:
* Ask follow-up questions using Chat.
* Review explanations or insights.
* Read the translated text in your selected language.
* Copy useful content for reference.

## 5. Important Notes
* **Supported Files:** PDF documents, including text-based and scanned PDFs.
* **Translation Mode:** Only available for documents translated using **Standard Mode**.
* **Device Support:** Available on desktop browsers only.
* **Character Consumption:** AI-powered features consume characters from your available balance.
